Space Zero: Lessons, Updates & What’s Next
1) Updates (19 Feb → 31 Mar)
Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s what we’ve been up to lately.
After releasing a simple prototype in mid-February, we received great feedback and ideas from many people, which was incredibly helpful for our team. We learned what expectations people had for the game and what we might have been missing. We also played various games together as a team and spent time discussing great game design while reading classic masterpieces like Art of Game Design.
In mid-March, we attended GDC 2025 (Game Developers Conference) in San Francisco, where we learned about various cutting-edge technologies and cases in the gaming industry. Through many booths and sessions, we had the opportunity to seriously consider what kind of game we wanted to make while playing with many people.
Over that month and a half, our team defined Space Zero's core game vision and mechanics, and updated the game-like features.
Explore the Wild
We're implementing a world that resembles real nature as closely as possible
Mountain Biome
We're currently providing North American mountain range biomes
There are mountains and lakes of various sizes, and when elevation reaches a certain level, snow accumulates to create snow-capped mountains
Resource Gathering
Trees and bears appear - you can cut trees to get wood, and hunting bears randomly drops leather/bones/meat
Trees grow based on calculations similar to real nature, considering factors like elevation and distance from water
Bears spawn in random locations and will initiate attacks if you intrude into their territory
Grizzly Bear
Get too close, then they’ll charge. Bring one down for leather, bones & meat—if you dare!
Endless World
Finally, the map generates infinitely
First-person / Third-person View
Press V to toggle between first-person and third-person views.
Guest Mode
Now anyone (yes, literally anyone!) around the world can play without logging in!
If you can think it, you can CRAFT it
AI-powered Crafting
Simply input what you want to create, and our AI intelligently combines your idea with available materials, automatically assigning relevant properties and functions.
Crafting Examples:
Car: Ride it to move faster than walking.
Wooden Glider: Actually fly—keep tapping the Space bar to stay airborne.
Bow or Gun: Enables attacking enemies from a distance.
Food Items: Provides nutritional information like calories, spiciness levels, sodium content and more.
Large Wall: AI auto-adjusts to the optimal scale, suitable for building.

There’s a detail page where you can view info about various items. Right-click any item and select “View details,” or check out the toast message that pops up when crafting is complete. Plus, each item has its own unique URL, perfect for sharing your masterpieces!

Space Zero isn’t just a sandbox game — it’s a living, breathing world where you survive, explore, and create. We aim to create a web-based world as realistic and immersive as the Matrix.
The upcoming updates are designed to make that world deeper, more diverse, and more personal to you.

More Biomes: Experience lush mountains, expansive plains, and mysterious deserts—all brought to life with eye-catching concept art.
Diverse Wildlife & Foods: Encounter animals like reindeer, camels, elk, and more while enjoying a revamped food system where what you eat matters.
2. Creative Freedom & Build Mode
Intuitive Building Tools: Dive into a precise Build Mode with snap-to-grid placement, easy item rotation, and customizable build scales.
Enhanced Crafting: Use personal or community recipes to craft faster and share your creations instantly with sleek 3D share cards.
3. Social Interaction & Enhanced Action
Co-Creation & Community: Personalize your own space, collaborate with friends, and join a community where every build and shared idea fuels creativity.
Refined Combat Mechanics: Engage in realistic action with improved shooting systems and real-time equipment upgrades.
